In de week voorafgaande aan deze gebeurtenis vertellen we aan de kinderen wat de grondsteen is, waar hij ligt en hoe je hem kunt vinden en door wie hij gemaakt is en waarvan.

Ook hoe we dit gaan vieren komt ter sprake.

De grondsteen is een koperen driedimensionale vorm:

een dodecaëder (12 regelmatige vijfhoeken).

Een dodecaëder is één van de vijf Platonische lichamen.

In de grondsteen ligt een perkamentpapier met de geschreven grondsteenspreuk die ondertekend is door ouders en leerkrachten.

De tekst van deze “grondsteenspreuk” is ook te vinden in de hal van de school. Door het plaatsen van de grondsteen wordt de antroposofische identiteit van de school zichtbaar gemaakt.

Op 6 mei 1990 werd de grondsteen van de Parcivalschool gelegd door Kate ter Horst samen met Gerard Reijngoud.

I am Esther the Spanish teacher. I am from Málaga, Spain and I started to give Spanish lessons last November in groups 1-6.

Even if most of children didn’t know any Spanish at all, they are doing really well and learning very fast. I can feel how they understand and speak a little bit more of Spanish every week.

Since the first day I do the whole lessons in Spanish because it makes them learn faster and get used to the language. I am very proud of all of them because I know sometimes it is a little bit hard for them so I value their big effort and I try to transmit the affection and confidence they need to learn Spanish in an easier, natural and funny way.

Every day we say “Hola” (Hallo) and “Buenos días” (Goedemorgen) to each other and we talk about the weather, the season, the day of the week and how we feel at the beginning of the lesson. That makes them learn about it in a very natural way. We use to do a lot of songs about it and also games and music according with the topic. I use a lot of pictures and movements to make them understand what I want to teach them. We have already worked about topics like the seasons: autumn, winter and spring, presentations, numbers, colors, states of mind, parts of the body, animals…

I am delighted to work at the school and I hope children, teachers and family  enjoy the lessons as I do. I wish we can learn a lot of more Spanish together.
